Rancid milk stink is some powerful stuff! We've had to have a few talks with Short Stack about drinking all his milk, lest it turn into a horrible, reeking mess later in the day. Our success rate is nothing like 100%, but we're working on it! In the mean time, we're going through a LOT of plastic bags. :P

AND we used to do the plastic bag thing with our thermoses.
AND we still used to get leaks through our school bags. Which no matter how much we washed them, never quite recovered, especially where milk was involved.

My lunchboxes were alreays really boring. My favourite one looked like a big blue brick but had room for a cool drink container in it, which would keep your lunch cool in summer, AND you could drink from it! If it was really hot weather, we'd freeze our juice overnight - wey hey, what excitement. As for thermoses. Well. I had a terrible habit of forgetting to wash mine out properly or forgetting to drink my soup/hot drink during the day, so that whatever had been in the thermos well and truly reeked when I poured it out. My thermos was dark blue, but the same shape as yours above. I absolutely hated it after a while. My mum often used to put a hot chocolate drink in it and for some reason it never tasted quite right.
I also remember that after the movie/TV series branded lunchbox phase, somehow the cool kids all started to use old ice cream containers as their lunch boxes because old and reused and battered was cool, but tidy and branded was out.
Thank you for the trip down memory lane!

Well written, Barn. Your words made for pleasant, gentle Saturday morning reading. They draw the reader right into your adventure.

Also just read a couple essays by North Cairn that you may enjoy. Will show you one when you and the monkeys arrive in a few hours. Can't wait to see you!

Oh, MAN! I loved G-Force! Well… except for the gleep-gloop kid who spoke exclusively in sound effects. He was just kind of annoying.
Come to think of it, I tend to speak in sound effects a lot myself. Uh oh.
